Topic: Unsuccessful in increasing size of an NTFS Windows partition
Hi,
I have a hard drive with 2 NTFS partition : one partition with Windows XP (24,85 Go), one partition with Windows Vista (49,68 Go). I want to delete the Windows Vista partition and increase the size of the XP partition to fit the entire disk.
I booted to a GParted Live disk and tried deleting the Vista partition. That went OK. I tried increasing the size of the XP partion. I ended up with an indication of a partition sized 74,53 Go, but when I reboot back to Windows, the partition is recognized with its previous size of 24,85 Go. When I reboot back into GParted, I get the partition with its 74,53 Go size.
Any clue why the resize is not recognize by Windows ? I remember reading something about extended NTFS partions not being resizable (at least not increased) but I'm not sure this is related.
Thanks.
