Topic: Can't login to XP after shrinking NTFS partition with GParted
Hi, I used GParted livecd 0.3.3-6 to shrink my NTFS partition from around 200GB to 120GB, I had only used about 70GB on that partition. On another 30GB partition I have Slackware Linux installed, I did not resize this partition.
After shrinking the NTFS partition I created an ext2 partition of around 50GB as I want to install Ubuntu on it.
I use GRUB as my bootloader. After GParted finished shrinking the NTFS partition and creating the ext2 partition, I rebooted my machine. GRUB starts up fine and I was able to select from either Slackware or Windows XP. When I booted into XP it ran check disk, restarted, and then XP seemed to start normally, I get the login screen, enter my normal login details, it tries to login, but then it says 'logging off' and takes me back to the login screen.
Any ideas as to what's gone wrong and how I might fix the problem? I'd really like my XP partition back...
Thanks!
