Topic: LiveCD won't boot

I downloaded the gparted-live-0.3.7-7.iso file, but it downloads as an WinRAR file. Not an .iso file. When I unpack this WinRAR file I get some files and folders. I burn them on a CD with Nero.
In the BIOS I tell the PC to first boot from the CDROM, but the PC looks shortly to the CDROM and then continues booting from the harddisk. Is the CD not bootable and how do I make it bootable?

Re: LiveCD won't boot

This is because winrar opens iso files and can look into. ISO files have nothing to do with winrar. Don't unpack it. Just burn the livecd with nero or any other burning programme as "ISO" or "image" or "ISO image", not as data cd. The Gparted ISO file is an image of an entire bootable cd. Writing the cd contents as data cd doesn't make it bootable.

After that, you select to boot from cdrom in the bios setup and the computer boots from that cd.
