Topic: Dynamic disks on Windows 2003

Hi gang,

I have a win 2003 server that I need to resize the system partition on. The drives are configured as dynamic drives and I had problems resizing this before (don't recall the version of gparted I used). Does anyone know if the current version supports resizing dynamic drives? Or will I have to convert to basic?

No, and yes are the simple answers to your questions.

GParted only supports resizing basic drives.  The complex setups of NTFS file systems on Windows dynamic drives are not supported.

See Bug 634668 - Resizing of NTFS fails if partition type is 42.
