Topic: [Solved] Fonts not readable - too small

Hi everybody,

sorry, I guess it is a fairly Newbie questions, and I am new to Gparted and to linux/unix systems as well: roll

When booting the live CD and switching to the graphical mode, the font size of both the icons and within the software is soo small, that it is completely unreadable.

I have tried virtually every combination of settings in the menu during boot-up (incl. VGA, 800x600 resolution, vesa mode), but no effect. sad

Also, "vesa" seems the only option that works to start the graphical interface. I have tried "ati" but it did not even start the graphical interface.

VESA is an absolutely acceptable option.
Small font and graphics size appear usually when the graphics card works in full resolution. Then, the GParted window is very small on the screen.  In 800x600, the GParted window covers the entire screen.
You don't write the version you try to use. Be sure that you have the latest version (actually 0.4.5-2) and check the md5sum of the downloaded ISO file.

Hi, all,

after much trying and testing - I finally got it to run properly:

Solution: I connected the computer with the screen by an old VGA cable. Before that, it was connected via HDMI and for whatever reasons all fonts (also the icon descriptions outside Gparted) were not readable at all.

With VGA cable everything worked.
