Topic: [SOLVED]A problem with GParted

Hi,
I'm new to GParted and I have just used the Live CD to try to partition my 2GB memory stick into two equal partitions.

I have one hard drive and in the GParted table I had my main partition, my recovery partition, another (Dell I think) partition and then a 2GB partition which I assumed was my memory stick.
So I partitioned the memory stick into two half's, the process took about 5 seconds.

When I booted back into vista my memory stick had not changed but my 640 GB removable hard drive is now 1 GB big. Yes, very funny.
I don't really understand because the removable hard drive (both in fact) wasn't even in the GParted table.

Now I know just enough about hard drives to know that the data could not have been deleted in 5 seconds, so I'm guessing that vista just thinks that its dealing with a 1 GB hard drive??

I'm guessing that this could be sorted by re-formatting the drive but this will defiantly delete all of my data which I really don't want to have to do.
Is there a way maybe with GParted that I can fix this?

Thanks for any help you can give, and feel free to laugh.

Tom
